Randi Wedvich pursued musical studies Bergen, with singing as her primary instrument. She has been active in the music scene in Bergen, Sola, and Stavanger in music bands, choirs, and as a vocal soloist.
She has been the conductor and artistic director of the Stavanger Opera Choir since 1993. She has translated numerous operettas and operas into Norwegian from German and English for the Stavanger Opera Choir's productions. She was the artistic director for Hafrsfjordspillet's performance of the opera "Rygekongen" in 2005 and 2006.
In 2014, she received the King's Medal of Merit for her many years of contribution to the cultural life in Bergen, Sola, and Stavanger.
Her own authorship includes historical operas inspired by the sagas, such as those from Snorre, Fagerskinna, and Flatøybok. Her librettos include:
"Rygekongen" (composer John G. Akerø), premiered at Sola Cultural Center in 1996, performed in concert form at Stavanger Concert Hall (Kuppelhallen) in 1998, full stage production at Sola Cultural Center in 2003, and outdoor full stage productions during Hafrsfjordspillet in 2005 and 2006, and in concert form at Nidaros Cathedral in 2016, among others.
"Sigrid og Eindride" (composer Gisle Krogseth), performed in concert form in Tønsberg and Sandefjord in 2011. This libretto was purchased by the Norwegian Cultural Council in 2000.
"Harald Hårfagre," an opera in four acts, 2017.
"Harald Dovrefostre," a family musical in eight scenes, 2017 (composer John G. Akerø), performed at Sola Cultural Center in October 2019 with Arnulf Haga as director.
She was a co-founder of the Erling Skjalgsson Society/SagaBok in 1995 and managed the publishing house from 1995 to 2010. She has been part of the editorial team until September 2023.
