In the pursuit of scholarly excellence and the preservation of our shared cultural heritage, we are hereby establishing the Collegium Scholare Antiquitatis (College of the Schools of Antiquity). Founded under the auspices of The Saga Heritage Foundation, this College is dedicated to the study, promotion, and dissemination of key historical works in Norse and Latin tradition, and the deepening of our understanding of the historical periods and figures connected to them.

The establishment of the Collegium Scholare Antiquitatis is inspired by the intellectual exchanges of the late Renaissance period, particularly the correspondence between Ole Worm (1588−1654) and his international body of colleagues. This College aspires to continue their legacy of renewed interest in saga literature and related scholarly pursuits. The College will be a beacon of learning and collaboration, fostering a global community of scholars dedicated to the study of antiquity.

The College shall cultivate a social dimension, creating a space for leisure and networking among its members. This will include regular meetings, both formal and informal, and opportunities to collaborate on scholarly and creative endeavors.

The first meeting of the CSA will be in Copenhagen, fall 2024. Contact us for more information.
