Anders Kvåle Rue visits the Saga House

Anders Kvåle Rue describing the original Flateyjarbók manuscript.

The Saga Heritage Foundation, dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of the Norse saga tradition, held its first event at the foundation’s new headquarters, Saga House, located in the town of Sandnes in the South Western part of Norway. Artist Anders Kvåle Rue took our guests on a fascinating journey through the visual universe he created for the Norwegian edition of Flateyjarbók. He calls his work "a process of catching 'visual echoes'", visual imprints left of events and people described in the book. The Norse sagas constitutes a living tradition which has been passed down from antiquity to the modern era and we are delighted that the work of providing stewardship and safe passage from the previous generation to the next now has a physical location here at the Saga House!
